About Me

Hello Oakland University and the surrounding community!

I’m Katie, one of the new fitness and wellness graduate assistants with Campus Recreation! I started here in the beginning of August after graduating from North Carolina State University in May 2012. I hold a B.S. in Sport Management and Fitness Leadership and am an ACE-certified personal trainer, AFAA-certified group fitness instructor, TRX Fitness Anywhere instructor, PiYo-certified instructor, and an avid runner. I’m in the HRD Training and Development masters program here at OU, focusing on Instructional Design and Technology.

I’m passionate about all-things related to fitness, as well as educating through social media and technology; that’s where this blog comes into play! Here you’ll find workouts, healthy living tips, wellness ideas, things to do around the community, race reviews, fashion bits, and anything else that pops up!

I want you to get the most out of your fitness/health/mind and body goals; I highly recommend and welcome all of your comments, suggestions, questions, concerns- and most importantly- simply stopping by to say hi..I’m always looking for new friends :).

Check out the group fitness schedule and participate in as many classes as you can!

    Hi Katie,

I am Princess. I am a nurse and health blogger based in the Philippines. I was just wondering if you are accepting guest post contributors at http://katieept.com and want to contribute a topic about “Body Workout Routine” because a regular exercise routine boosts your energy level and your physical stamina, making everyday chores less taxing. An active lifestyle can improve productivity, lighten your mood and make it easier to focus and concentrate on daily tasks.

By the way, I read your article “The Automatic Feel-Better Treadmill Walking Workout” and I must say that I commend you for doing such a good write up. I easily got interested the moment when I read about the title. I got curious and made me scan and read the whole article. I learned a lot from it. I’ll surely take note every detail of the article. I’ll share it to my friends who are very conscious about their fitness and health regimen. I’m sure they will like it too. Thanks for the information. Good job!

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Cheers,

    Princess Galsim
