Small Piece of Heaven

If you’re craving chocolate, these molten cakes are the answer! They’re creamy, rich and decadent yet light enough that they won’t leave you feeling like a balloon. With minimal ingredients and preparation, these cakes really are a piece of heaven.


  • 1/2c + 2T. sugar
  • 2T. + 2t. cocoa powder
  • 1/4c milk
  • 1ounce unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/2T. butter
  • 5T. flour
  • 1/8t. salt
  • 1 whisked egg white
  • 1/2t. vanilla extract
  • chocolate chips, York peppermint patties, Reese’s cups, M&M’s-anything goes here!

Prep: preheat oven to 350degrees. using 4 custard cups, spray with cooking spray and sprinkle sugar on the bottom of the custard cup and along the sides.

  1. combine sugar, cocoa and milk in a saucepan coated with cooking spray. bring to a boil and add the chocolate and butter, stirring with a whisk until the sugar dissolves. remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. to the chocolate mixture, whisk in the flour, salt, egg white and vanilla.
  3. pour enough of the chocolate mixture into the 4 custard cups to cover the bottom. add your choice ingredient(s). pour the rest of the chocolate mixture evenly on top.
  4. bake for 20 minutes.

Delicious, eh? These are one of my family’s FAVORITE desserts! They’re great for entertaining too because you can make them earlier in the day then heat them up right before serving. A little ice cream on the side won’t hurt either :).
